The surface on this one-of-a-kind Stoneware clay, abstract figure was achieved by the atmospheric process in a wood fired kiln. The kiln is fueled with wood, such as logs of variable size throughout the 7 day firing. The ash is carried on the flame and airflow throughout the kiln until landing on the surface of a piece, vaporizing to become the glaze as it reaches temperatures over 2300 degrees. The kiln then cools for 7 or more days. Each piece is truly one-of-a-kind, and cannot be duplicated
